Non-alcoholic drinks have moved far beyond plain soda and juice. From elegant mocktails to alcohol-free beer, wine, and spirits, the category is reshaping how people socialize, celebrate, and think about wellness.

A Growing Shift in Drinking Culture

Non-alcoholic drinks are no longer an afterthought. What was once limited to basic soft drinks has expanded into a fast-growing world of refined, flavorful options designed for adults who want something more interesting in the glass. The rise of the sober curious movement has helped push this change, encouraging people to rethink alcohol without giving up the rituals of social drinking.

Today, consumers can choose from mocktails, sparkling botanical drinks, kombucha, alcohol-free beers, non-alcoholic wines, and zero-proof spirits. These beverages are often crafted to feel celebratory and sophisticated, offering layered flavors, attractive presentation, and a sense of occasion that traditional soft drinks have not always provided.

This cultural shift has also made gatherings more inclusive. Hosts increasingly give the same attention to alcohol-free options that they once reserved only for wine, beer, and cocktails. Dedicated drink stations, thoughtful garnishes, quality glassware, and signature mocktails can help ensure that guests who are not drinking alcohol still feel fully part of the experience.

Health Appeal and Everyday Benefits

One of the biggest reasons for the category's popularity is its connection to health and wellness. For many people, cutting back on alcohol can support better sleep, lower calorie intake, improved hydration, and a greater sense of control over daily habits. Non-alcoholic beverages offer a way to enjoy flavorful drinks without some of the downsides associated with regular alcohol consumption.

Some products also fit neatly into broader wellness trends. Functional beverages such as kombucha and certain sparkling drinks are marketed as refreshing alternatives that can complement a health-conscious lifestyle. Research on non-alcoholic beverages has also explored their role in hydration and cardiometabolic health, though benefits depend heavily on the specific product and its ingredients.

That is why reading labels still matters. Not every alcohol-free drink is automatically healthy. Some options contain high amounts of sugar, caffeine, or sodium. Sports drinks, for example, may be useful in certain situations, but their benefits often do not extend much beyond hydration and recovery for people who are not engaging in intense physical activity. Choosing wisely means looking beyond the marketing and considering how a drink fits into your real needs.

Taste, Variety, and Modern Craftsmanship

The newest generation of non-alcoholic drinks has helped change perceptions because the category now takes flavor seriously. Producers are developing complex drinks with herbs, teas, spices, fruit, vinegar, and botanicals to create depth that can rival traditional cocktails. Instead of feeling like a substitute, many of these beverages stand on their own.

Mocktails have become especially popular because they recreate the excitement of cocktail culture without the alcohol. A well-made cranberry spritz, a tea-based whiskey sour alternative, or a sophisticated sour-style drink with citrus and spice can deliver texture, aroma, and balance in a way that feels grown-up and indulgent. Non-alcoholic Irish cream-style drinks and spirit alternatives have also expanded the possibilities for home entertaining, desserts, and seasonal celebrations.

Another important development is the rise of non-alcoholic spirits. These zero-proof alternatives are made to mimic the role of gin, whiskey, apéritifs, and other classic bottles in mixed drinks. They can be served over ice, used in spritzes, or combined with tonic, citrus, and herbs for a bar-quality experience at home.

An Important Note on Alcohol Recovery

While non-alcoholic drinks may be a positive choice for many consumers, they are not a simple answer for everyone. For people with a history of alcohol addiction or alcohol use disorder, alcohol-free beer, wine, and mocktails can sometimes be complicated. Even when the beverage contains little or no alcohol, the taste, appearance, branding, and ritual can act as cues that trigger cravings.

Experts in addiction have noted that these products may help some people feel included in social settings, but for others they may be too close to the real thing. The result is that non-alcoholic drinks can be either helpful or risky depending on the individual. There is no universal rule, and personal history matters.

There is also a practical point consumers should understand: some beverages labeled non-alcoholic may still contain trace amounts of alcohol, often up to 0.5 percent alcohol by volume under federal labeling rules. For many people, that amount may be negligible, but for others, especially those in recovery, it can be significant. Anyone with concerns should check labels carefully and make choices that align with medical advice and personal boundaries.

What Comes Next for the Category

The future of non-alcoholic drinks looks strong because the category meets several modern demands at once: better balance, broader inclusion, elevated taste, and more intentional consumption. People increasingly want drinks that match different moments of life, whether that means celebrating without alcohol, taking a break during the week, or simply enjoying something delicious and new.

As brands continue to innovate, non-alcoholic beverages are likely to become an even more visible part of restaurant menus, grocery shelves, and home bars. The biggest change may be cultural rather than commercial. Choosing not to drink alcohol is becoming less about restriction and more about preference, flexibility, and pleasure.

That shift explains why non-alcoholic drinks are having such a major moment. They are not just replacements for alcohol. At their best, they are a category of their own, offering flavor, ritual, and connection in ways that feel modern, welcoming, and remarkably satisfying.

From zero-gravity sports to high-stakes strategic contests between orbital crews, tournaments in space could reshape entertainment, training, and international cooperation.

A New Arena Beyond Earth

For centuries, tournaments have reflected the societies that created them. They have tested strength, skill, endurance, strategy, and nerve. If humanity builds a lasting presence in orbit, on the Moon, and eventually on Mars, it is only natural to imagine that competition will evolve there too. Tournaments in space would not simply copy Earth-based events; they would become something entirely new, shaped by microgravity, confined habitats, advanced technology, and the demands of survival far from home.

Space changes the body, the environment, and the meaning of movement. A sprint, a wrestling match, or even a ball game would be transformed by weightlessness and limited room. At the same time, not every contest in space would need to be physical. Strategy games, engineering challenges, robotics contests, navigation trials, and simulation-based competitions could become just as important as athletic events. In that sense, the future space tournament may look like a blend of sport, science, and spectacle.

What Space Tournaments Might Look Like

The most obvious category is zero-gravity sport. Picture athletes pushing off walls to race through three-dimensional obstacle courses, teams passing a ball in every direction rather than on a flat field, or competitors performing acrobatic maneuvers where control matters more than raw force. In a space setting, balance would be replaced by orientation, and speed would depend on timing, precision, and the efficient use of momentum.

Another likely format is the structured league or ladder system. A tournament in space would need to make the most of limited participants and carefully planned schedules, because transporting people and equipment would be expensive. One appealing model is a multi-tier competition in which participants rise or fall based on results over a fixed number of rounds. Such a format rewards consistency, keeps all competitors active, and creates a natural sense of drama as the strongest crews or players climb toward the top. A pyramid-style system would be especially effective in space because it ensures that participants continue to face rivals near their own level while still leaving room for surprise comebacks.

There could also be mission-based tournaments. Teams might compete to repair equipment fastest, solve habitat emergencies in simulated conditions, optimize energy use, or complete complex construction tasks with robotic assistance. These events would entertain audiences while also sharpening practical skills. In space, the line between game and training could become remarkably thin.

The Challenges of Competing Off the Planet

Exciting as the idea sounds, organizing tournaments in space would be difficult. Safety would come first. Any event involving speed, impact, or physical contact would need strict controls to prevent injury in environments where medical resources are limited. Equipment would need to be soft-edged, tightly secured, and designed to avoid damaging life-support systems or sensitive instruments.

There are also questions of fairness. Human performance changes in microgravity, and people adapt at different rates. Tournament organizers would need rules that account for physical conditioning, radiation exposure, fatigue, and the psychological effects of confinement. Even small differences in living conditions, training time, or access to equipment could affect results. Because of that, a successful space tournament would rely on careful planning, transparent judging, and formats that reward more than a single lucky moment.

The psychology of competition would matter as much as the rules. On Earth, rivals can go home after a match. In space, they may share the same station, habitat, or transport vehicle for weeks or months. That reality could encourage more respectful competition, but it could also intensify tension. The best events would be designed not just to identify winners, but to preserve morale and strengthen teamwork among people living in extreme conditions.

Why Space Tournaments Could Matter

Tournaments in space would be more than entertainment. They could serve as tools for health, motivation, and community-building. Long missions require regular exercise and mental stimulation, and competition can provide both. A well-designed tournament could give astronauts and space workers goals to pursue, routines to follow, and moments of celebration in an otherwise highly regulated environment.

They could also help bring space exploration closer to the public. Audiences on Earth may find scientific milestones inspiring, but competition adds a human drama that is instantly recognizable. Fans understand rankings, upsets, rivalries, and championship moments. If space agencies or private habitats ever host tournaments, those events could become a powerful way to sustain public interest in life beyond Earth.

Perhaps most importantly, tournaments in space could symbolize a turning point in civilization. The moment people compete for fun, pride, and excellence beyond Earth is the moment space begins to feel less like a distant frontier and more like a lived-in world. Competition has always followed humanity’s expansion, and one day the next great arena may not be in a stadium on Earth, but inside an orbital habitat, beneath a lunar dome, or on a Martian station where the future of sport is being invented in real time.

Mushrooms have long been valued for their earthy flavor, but growing research suggests they may offer far more than culinary appeal. From nutrition and gut health to their place in tradition and science, these fungi are earning new respect.

What Mushrooms Really Are

Mushrooms are often grouped with vegetables in the kitchen, but biologically they are fungi. They are the visible fruiting bodies of certain fungal organisms, typically growing above ground or on decaying organic material. The familiar supermarket variety, the white button mushroom, has shaped how many people picture a mushroom: a cap, a stem, and gills underneath. But the mushroom family is far more diverse, including many forms, textures, and flavors.

For centuries, mushrooms have held a special place in human culture. Ancient civilizations prized them not only as food but also as symbols of strength, vitality, and longevity. Their enduring appeal comes from a rare combination of qualities: they are visually distinctive, deeply savory, and adaptable to countless dishes. Today, that traditional admiration is being reinforced by modern nutritional and medical interest.

Nutritional Strength in a Small Package

One reason mushrooms continue to gain attention is their impressive nutritional profile. They add rich, savory taste to meals without contributing much fat, calories, or sodium. That makes them especially appealing for people trying to build satisfying meals while keeping an eye on overall dietary balance. Their natural umami character can also help make lighter dishes feel more substantial.

Researchers have also explored how mushrooms may support health beyond basic nutrition. Some studies suggest that regular mushroom consumption is associated with meaningful benefits. One widely cited review of cancer research found that eating a small daily amount of mushrooms may be linked to a lower cancer risk. While no single food should be seen as a miracle solution, findings like these have strengthened interest in mushrooms as part of a varied, health-conscious diet.

Mushrooms also contain bioactive compounds that have attracted scientific attention, including polyphenolic compounds and antioxidant-related components. Reviews of edible mushrooms have examined their possible anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, neuroprotective, and cardiometabolic value. The science is still evolving, but the overall picture is clear: mushrooms are more than a flavorful extra on the plate.

How Mushrooms Can Support Everyday Eating

One of the most practical advantages of mushrooms is how easily they fit into daily meals. They can be roasted, sautéed, grilled, blended into soups, folded into omelets, or added to pasta, grain bowls, and stir-fries. Their texture and savory depth also make them useful in recipes that aim to reduce meat without sacrificing satisfaction.

Research has shown that replacing part of the meat in a traditional ground beef recipe with mushrooms can preserve flavor while lowering sodium intake. That finding helps explain why mushrooms have become popular in blended cooking, where they stretch ingredients, lighten dishes, and introduce more plant-forward balance. For households looking to eat more thoughtfully, mushrooms offer a simple, familiar way to start.

They may also play a role in gut health. Mushrooms contain prebiotic substances that can help stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria in the digestive system. This area of research has drawn increasing attention as scientists continue to investigate the connection between gut health and overall well-being.

From Ancient Ingredient to Modern Wellness Focus

The idea of mushrooms as health-supporting foods is not new. Traditional cultures in Asia and elsewhere have long used edible mushrooms in everyday diets and wellness practices. Historical accounts describe them as prized foods associated with strength, resilience, and long life. In the modern era, this heritage has helped inspire a new wave of research into mushroom extracts and mushroom-based supplements.

At the same time, experts emphasize the importance of keeping expectations grounded. Edible mushrooms can be a valuable part of a healthy diet, but they are not a substitute for medical care or a cure-all. Their real strength lies in the way they combine culinary pleasure with promising nutritional and functional qualities.

That balance may be the secret to their staying power. Mushrooms are simple enough for a weeknight dinner and intriguing enough to remain at the center of serious scientific study. Whether appreciated for their flavor, their history, or their potential health benefits, they have earned a place far beyond the side dish.

Watermarks have long helped creators, businesses, and institutions mark ownership and discourage misuse. From paper documents to digital files, they remain useful, but not always foolproof.

What a Watermark Is and Why It Matters

A watermark is a mark of identification used to signal ownership, authenticity, or origin. Historically, watermarks appeared in paper as patterns visible through changes in thickness or density, often used on currency, stamps, and official documents to help discourage counterfeiting. In the digital world, the concept has evolved into visible and invisible forms that serve many of the same goals: protecting content, confirming authenticity, and reinforcing trust.

Today, watermarks are used across photography, design, publishing, business documentation, and product packaging. A visible watermark might appear as a logo, signature, or text placed on an image or file. An invisible digital watermark, by contrast, can be embedded into content without changing its appearance, allowing organizations to trace leaks, verify integrity, or identify the source of unauthorized distribution. In both forms, the watermark acts as a practical tool at the intersection of security and branding.

The Benefits of Using Watermarks

For creators, one of the biggest advantages of watermarking is clear attribution. A photograph, graphic, or video that carries a name, logo, or signature is more likely to remain associated with its original author. That can help preserve credit, support brand recognition, and reduce confusion over ownership. For businesses, watermarks can also function as a subtle promotional element, keeping a company identity visible whenever content is shared.

Watermarks can also work as a deterrent. A visible mark signals that a file is not unclaimed material and may discourage casual theft or unauthorized reposting. On documents, watermarks can highlight confidentiality, ownership, or official status. In more advanced settings, invisible digital watermarking offers additional protection by embedding information that can survive edits such as compression, resizing, or moderate cropping. This makes it useful for tracking sensitive files, monitoring content distribution, and supporting authenticity checks.

Another growing use is in anti-counterfeiting and product verification. Brands and institutions increasingly rely on hidden watermarking in digital and printed materials to confirm whether something is genuine. In some cases, these systems help identify tampering or trace where a leaked document came from. That makes watermarking valuable not only for artists but also for companies managing intellectual property, confidential records, and customer trust.

The Limits and Drawbacks of Watermarking

Despite their value, watermarks are not a perfect defense. Visible watermarks can often be cropped out, edited away, or removed with increasingly accessible software tools. Even large overlays may not stop determined misuse. In some cases, a watermark may also interfere with the viewing experience, especially if it is too bold, poorly placed, or visually distracting. If the mark overwhelms the content, it can hurt presentation more than it helps protection.

There is also a strategic balance to consider. A watermark should be noticeable enough to serve its purpose, but not so intrusive that it damages the image, video, or document itself. This is particularly important for photographers, designers, and publishers who want to showcase quality while still protecting their work. A weak watermark may be ineffective, while an aggressive one may frustrate legitimate viewers or clients.

Invisible watermarking, while more sophisticated, is not always simple to implement. It may require specialized tools, workflow changes, or technical support. Its purpose is also different from visible branding: it helps with tracing and verification more than immediate visual deterrence. For that reason, some organizations combine both approaches, using visible marks for public-facing content and hidden ones for internal control, monitoring, or forensic analysis.

When Watermarks Work Best

Watermarks are most effective when used intentionally. For public content such as portfolio images, social media graphics, previews, or draft materials, a visible watermark can be a practical way to maintain attribution and reduce casual misuse. Placing it in a corner or along an edge may preserve the viewing experience, while positioning it strategically can make removal more difficult. The design should match the content, often using a logo, brand name, or signature that feels relevant rather than generic.

For confidential files, enterprise documents, or high-value media assets, invisible watermarking can offer a stronger long-term solution. It can help identify the source of leaks, verify authenticity, and support content tracking without changing how the material looks. This makes it particularly useful for institutions, publishers, brands, and organizations handling sensitive or widely distributed files.

Ultimately, watermarking works best as part of a broader protection strategy rather than a standalone answer. Clear ownership policies, controlled distribution, file monitoring, and consistent branding all strengthen its impact. Used thoughtfully, a watermark can do more than mark a file. It can communicate authorship, support credibility, and add an extra layer of protection in a digital environment where copying and reuse are easier than ever.

Journalism as a Modern Phenomenon: Why It Still Shapes Public Life

Journalism is more than a profession or an industry. It is a public-facing system for gathering, verifying, and sharing information that helps societies understand events, judge power, and navigate daily life.

What Journalism Is Really For

Journalism is often described as the practice of collecting, verifying, and reporting information of public importance. That definition sounds simple, but its role in society is far-reaching. At its best, journalism helps people make sense of current events, understand institutions, and respond to change. It turns scattered facts, eyewitness accounts, official statements, and lived experiences into a form the public can use.

What makes journalism distinct from many other kinds of writing is its commitment to accuracy, verification, and public service. A journalist is not merely telling a story or expressing a personal view. The central duty is to inform. That usually means working with primary sources, interviewing people directly, checking documents, comparing claims, and presenting findings in a way that readers can assess and understand.

Journalism also occupies a special place in democratic life. A functioning public depends on reliable information. Citizens cannot meaningfully debate policy, vote responsibly, or hold leaders accountable if facts are hidden, distorted, or overwhelmed by noise. In that sense, journalism is not just content. It is part of the civic infrastructure of modern society.

How Journalism Became a Social Force

Journalism did not emerge fully formed. It evolved with technology, law, literacy, and political culture. The expansion of print created wider audiences for news. Later, the telegraph increased speed and transformed reporting by making distant events feel immediate. Radio and television changed not only how news was delivered but also how it was experienced, bringing voices, images, and live coverage into everyday life.

In the digital age, journalism has become faster, broader, and more fragmented at the same time. News now moves across websites, newsletters, podcasts, video platforms, and social feeds. Journalists may write traditional articles, produce documentaries, analyze public records, visualize data, or verify footage captured by witnesses. The tools have changed dramatically, yet the central purpose remains familiar: gather facts, test them, and report them in the public interest.

As a phenomenon, journalism reflects each era’s communication habits and tensions. It is shaped by the technologies available, the business models supporting it, and the political pressures surrounding it. That is why journalism can never be understood only as a profession. It is also a cultural and historical process, constantly adapting to new ways of producing and consuming information.

Objectivity, Judgment, and the Public Trust

One of the most debated ideas in journalism is objectivity. In principle, journalists are expected to approach reporting with fairness and discipline rather than personal persuasion. Their role is not to turn every article into an argument, but to present verified information clearly and responsibly. This does not mean journalists are without perspective. It means they are expected to separate evidence from opinion and to treat claims with skepticism, no matter who makes them.

That standard matters because trust is fragile. Audiences rely on journalism not only to tell them what happened, but also to distinguish fact from rumor, evidence from spin, and accountability from spectacle. In a media environment flooded with misinformation, propaganda, conspiracy theories, and attention-driven content, the value of careful reporting becomes even more visible. Good journalism slows down the rush to judgment and asks a simple question: what can actually be shown to be true?

At the same time, modern journalism faces a credibility problem. Public trust has fallen in many places, and critics often portray the press as biased, elitist, or politically motivated. Some of that criticism is opportunistic, especially when powerful figures attack coverage they dislike. Some of it, however, reflects genuine frustration with errors, blind spots, or a perceived lack of transparency. As a result, journalism today must not only do rigorous work but also explain how that work is done.

Journalism as Watchdog and Witness

The most admired form of journalism is often investigative reporting that exposes corruption, abuse, injustice, or institutional failure. This watchdog role gives journalism much of its moral force. When reporters uncover wrongdoing, reveal hidden systems, or document harms that would otherwise remain invisible, they can change laws, reshape public opinion, and force powerful people to answer difficult questions.

But journalism is not only about scandal or confrontation. It is also about witness. Local reporting can show how national decisions affect ordinary people. Coverage of science, health, education, labor, weather, or culture helps readers understand the conditions shaping their lives. Interviews bring human voices into public discussion. On any given day, journalism may explain a city budget, document a storm, profile a community organizer, or clarify a court ruling. These acts may seem routine, yet together they form a record of public life.

This broad function is why journalism remains essential even when it is imperfect. A society without journalism does not become calmer or more truthful. It becomes easier to manipulate. Silence helps the powerful more than scrutiny does. For that reason, the health of journalism affects far more than newsrooms. It affects the quality of public knowledge itself.

The Crisis and Future of the Field

Despite its importance, journalism is under intense pressure. Many news organizations face financial strain, shrinking staffs, and fierce competition for attention. Local outlets have been especially vulnerable, leaving some communities with less oversight of schools, police, courts, and municipal government. At the same time, journalists confront harassment, political attacks, and a wider culture that often rewards outrage more than verification.

Yet the future of journalism is not only a story of decline. It is also a story of reinvention. New forms of nonprofit reporting, reader-supported newsrooms, data journalism, visual investigations, and collaborative projects have shown that the field can adapt. Audiences still seek reliable information, especially in moments of crisis. The challenge is to build institutions and practices strong enough to meet that need consistently.

As a phenomenon, journalism endures because the underlying public need has not disappeared. People still want to know what happened, why it matters, and who is responsible. They still need credible accounts of events that affect their lives. Technologies will continue to change, and formats will continue to evolve, but the basic social demand for verified public information remains. That demand is the reason journalism, despite all its difficulties, continues to matter.

From precise plant care to timeless design appeal, this classic vessel continues to earn its place in gardens and homes alike.

A Simple Tool With Lasting Value

A watering can is a portable container, usually fitted with a handle and a spout, used to water plants by hand. Its purpose is straightforward, yet its usefulness has endured through generations of gardeners. In an age of hoses, drip systems, and automated irrigation, the watering can still holds a unique place because it offers something technology often cannot: control, care, and closeness.

For many gardeners, watering by hand is not just a task but a ritual. A watering can allows a person to move from plant to plant, checking leaves, soil, and blooms along the way. That slower pace can reveal early signs of stress, pests, or disease before they become larger problems. In that sense, the tool does more than carry water. It encourages attentiveness.

The watering can is also one of the most recognizable symbols of gardening. Even people who rarely garden know its shape immediately. Its familiar silhouette has become part of the visual language of the garden, representing nurture, patience, and growth.

Why Gardeners Still Reach for One

One of the strongest advantages of a watering can is precision. When plants need water at the base rather than across their foliage, a can makes it easier to deliver moisture exactly where it is needed. This targeted approach can reduce runoff and unnecessary evaporation, making watering more efficient, especially for containers, seedlings, herbs, and houseplants.

Watering cans are especially useful in situations where gentleness matters. Young plants and delicate flowers can be damaged by a forceful stream from a hose. A well-designed can, particularly one with a longer spout or a balanced handle, gives the gardener better control over both direction and flow. That matters indoors as much as outdoors, where overwatering or splashing soil can quickly become messy.

They are also practical for small spaces. Apartment dwellers, patio gardeners, and indoor plant enthusiasts often do not need a full irrigation setup. For them, a watering can is compact, accessible, and easy to store. Some modern designs combine function with style, turning the can itself into an attractive object that can sit on a shelf or windowsill when not in use.

Function, Form, and Frustration

Despite their charm, watering cans are not perfect. Carrying water is physical work, and the weight of the container increases quickly once it is filled. Many gardeners know the awkwardness of trying to pour with one hand, missing the pot entirely, or sending out a stream too strong for fragile plants. That tension between beauty and practicality is part of the story of the watering can.

Design makes a major difference. A comfortable handle, balanced body, and thoughtfully shaped spout can transform the experience. Some cans are better suited for outdoor flower beds, while others excel with indoor plants or hanging baskets. Recent product testing by gardening reviewers has shown that details such as handle placement, capacity, and spout length can have a real effect on comfort and ease of use.

At the same time, many people value watering cans for reasons beyond utility. Vintage cans, in particular, have become collectible objects. Their weathered metal, unusual shapes, and sense of history give them decorative power even when they are no longer used to carry water. For some garden lovers, a watering can is both a tool and an icon, something practical to keep close and beautiful enough to display.

The Enduring Appeal of a Garden Icon

The enduring appeal of the watering can lies in its blend of usefulness and personality. It connects modern gardeners with a long tradition of hand-tended growing spaces, from kitchen gardens to carefully arranged containers on a front porch. Whether made of metal, plastic, or glass, the best watering cans feel personal in a way that many garden tools do not.

That personal connection may explain why the watering can continues to thrive even as gardening trends evolve. People are growing more herbs indoors, decorating balconies with potted flowers, and paying closer attention to how they care for each plant. In all of those settings, the watering can remains relevant because it supports a more intentional approach to gardening.

In the end, the watering can is more than a vessel. It is a reminder that good gardening often depends on simple acts done well. It may not be the fastest method, and it may not always be the easiest to carry, but its combination of precision, symbolism, and everyday usefulness ensures that it will remain a beloved part of gardening for years to come.

Sculpture has long given human imagination a physical form, turning stone, metal, wood, and clay into works that move people across generations. Its beauty lies not only in appearance, but also in emotion, craftsmanship, and the stories each piece holds.

The Art of Giving Form to Emotion

Sculpture is one of the oldest and most powerful forms of artistic expression. Unlike images that remain confined to a flat surface, sculptures occupy real space, inviting people to walk around them, study their details, and experience them from multiple angles. This physical presence gives sculpture a unique ability to create a deep and immediate connection with viewers.

The beauty of sculptures often begins with their capacity to transform raw materials into something expressive and meaningful. A block of marble can become a serene human face, while bronze can capture movement, strength, or quiet reflection. In this process, artists do not simply make objects; they generate emotion, memory, and wonder through shape, texture, and form.

Beauty in Materials, Craft, and Detail

Part of what makes sculpture so captivating is the relationship between material and artistic vision. Stone suggests permanence and dignity, wood offers warmth and organic character, and metal can convey both elegance and power. Clay, meanwhile, allows for softness and spontaneity, preserving the traces of the artist's hands. Each material contributes its own voice to the finished work.

The craftsmanship behind sculpture also plays a major role in its beauty. Fine details such as the fold of fabric, the tension in a hand, or the expression in a face reveal extraordinary technical skill. Yet true beauty in sculpture is not only about realism. Abstract and modern works can be equally striking, using simplified lines or unusual forms to generate thought and emotional response. Whether classical or contemporary, sculpture demonstrates how balance, proportion, and imagination can come together in remarkable ways.

A Mirror of Culture and Human Experience

Sculptures are more than decorative objects; they are reflections of the societies that create them. Across cultures and centuries, sculptors have used their art to honor leaders, celebrate faith, mark grief, and express ideas about beauty, identity, and power. Ancient statues, religious carvings, public monuments, and modern installations all tell stories about human values and aspirations.

This cultural depth gives sculpture an enduring relevance. A single figure carved hundreds of years ago can still communicate tenderness, courage, or sorrow today. In public spaces, sculptures can shape the atmosphere of a city, turning parks and plazas into places of memory and conversation. In museums and galleries, they offer moments of stillness that encourage reflection.

Why Sculptures Continue to Inspire

The lasting beauty of sculpture lies in its ability to exist at the meeting point of permanence and feeling. Though made from solid materials, sculptures often seem alive with motion, personality, and spirit. They remind viewers that art can emerge from chiseling, carving, molding, and casting, but also from patience, vision, and the desire to give invisible ideas a visible form.

Even in a digital age, sculpture retains a special power because it is tangible. People can stand before it and sense its scale, weight, and texture in a way that no screen can fully reproduce. That direct encounter is what makes sculpture timeless. It continues to fascinate because it turns material into meaning and transforms silence into presence.

Technologies that once seemed unimaginable now shape everyday life, from instant global communication to intelligent machines and clean energy systems. These modern miracles inspire awe, but they also demand responsibility in how we use them.

The New Age of the Miraculous

What people once described as impossible now arrives in ordinary packages: a smartphone in a pocket, a medical scan in a hospital, a satellite image on a screen, or an artificial intelligence system answering questions in seconds. The phrase miracles of technology captures this feeling of astonishment. Modern innovation has not removed wonder from human life; it has relocated it into laboratories, engineering centers, data networks, and research institutions.

Science and technology have transformed how people live, work, travel, communicate, and solve problems. Ideas that belonged to science fiction only a generation ago are now routine parts of modern society. This progress has improved convenience and productivity, but it has also helped address deep human challenges, including disease, isolation, energy demand, and access to information.

Yet technological miracles are not simply about shiny devices or faster systems. They reflect something deeper: humanity’s determination to push beyond limits. Each breakthrough expands what society believes is achievable, turning the impossible into the practical and the extraordinary into the everyday.

Communication, Intelligence, and Daily Life

One of the clearest miracles of technology is the revolution in communication. The internet and smartphones have compressed distance in ways that would have stunned earlier generations. People can speak face to face across continents, access vast libraries of knowledge within seconds, and participate in global conversations from almost anywhere. This transformation has reshaped business, education, entertainment, and personal relationships.

Artificial intelligence has added a new dimension to that transformation. Systems that can generate text, recognize patterns, analyze data, and assist with decisions increasingly feel almost magical in their speed and fluency. In homes and workplaces, these tools help automate repetitive tasks, improve customer service, support research, and increase efficiency. In medicine, they can assist in diagnostics. In education, they can personalize learning. In industry, they can optimize operations on a scale no human team could match alone.

Still, the power of intelligent systems raises serious questions. A tool that appears effortless can encourage uncritical trust. That is why the real miracle is not only the machine’s capability, but the human capacity to guide it wisely. In education, artificial intelligence should strengthen learning rather than replace thought. In the workplace, it should support judgment rather than erase accountability. The future of intelligent technology will depend on whether innovation remains aligned with human dignity, transparency, and ethical oversight.

Healing, Energy, and the Power to Solve Big Problems

Another realm of technological miracles is medicine. Modern medical imaging, surgical tools, advanced pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology have extended lives and improved quality of care for millions. Procedures once considered highly dangerous are now routine. Diseases that were once fatal can now be managed or treated. The combination of scientific discovery and engineering precision has allowed healthcare to become one of the most visible examples of technology serving human well-being.

Energy is another field where the miraculous has become practical. Solar power, once seen as too costly and limited, has become far more efficient and affordable. Wind energy has expanded dramatically, including large offshore installations that generate electricity at scale. Battery technology has also advanced, enabling stronger energy storage and supporting the rise of electric vehicles. Together, these developments represent more than technical progress; they offer a path toward reducing reliance on fossil fuels and confronting climate-related risks.

What makes these breakthroughs especially important is that they solve problems larger than individual convenience. They show how innovation can respond to global needs. Clean energy, smarter infrastructure, and advanced healthcare are not luxuries. They are examples of how technology can improve resilience, sustainability, and public health for entire societies.

The Hidden Engine Behind Breakthroughs

Many technological miracles do not begin with a clear commercial goal. They often emerge from curiosity-driven research, where scientists and engineers explore questions that may seem abstract or distant from practical use. History repeatedly shows that discoveries made in pursuit of knowledge alone can later become the foundation for life-changing applications.

This matters because societies often celebrate finished inventions without fully appreciating the patient research behind them. The most transformative advances frequently arise from years of experimentation, failure, revision, and imagination. In that sense, curiosity is not a luxury in science. It is a generator of future breakthroughs.

Fields such as nanotechnology illustrate this process well. Work at extremely small scales may seem highly specialized, yet it can influence medicine, materials, electronics, and manufacturing. What appears narrow in the laboratory can become revolutionary in the wider world. The miracle is not sudden magic, but the long and disciplined conversion of ideas into reality.

Wonder, Responsibility, and the Future

Technology continues to expand the boundaries of human capability. It allows people to restore health, connect minds, reshape materials, explore space, and build systems that learn from data. With each advance, the sense of wonder remains intact. If anything, it deepens, because modern inventions reveal how much more may still be possible.

But awe alone is not enough. Every powerful technology carries consequences, intended and unintended alike. The same tools that increase freedom can also increase dependence, concentration of power, or ethical risk if left unchecked. That is why society must pair innovation with judgment. Progress should not be measured only by what can be built, but also by what should be built and how it should be governed.

The miracles of technology are real, not because they defy reason, but because they are created through it. They are the result of human imagination disciplined by science and turned into practical force through engineering. If guided wisely, these miracles will continue to shape a future that is not only more advanced, but also more humane.

It is an image of wild nature, where beauty meets the harshness of the high-mountain world.

A monumental high-mountain landscape

The photograph shows a vast, spectacular mountain landscape, dominated by massive ranges with snow lingering on the peaks and in the gullies. Between them stretches a wide valley, likely shaped by a glacier or past meltwater activity. The whole scene is completed by an intensely blue sky with large, bright clouds that give it a sense of space and movement.

In the foreground, a dense coniferous forest draws the eye. The dark green of the trees contrasts with the bright patches of snow and rocky slopes, emphasizing the diversity of the terrain. It is a landscape that both soothes and commands respect, showing nature in its almost untouched form.

Harsh beauty and the silence of the wilderness

The image shows no people or signs of intense civilization, allowing the viewer to focus solely on nature. Such a composition strengthens the message of the wildness and authenticity of this place. The high peaks, cool light, and broad, almost empty valley create an atmosphere of silence, isolation, and contact with nature in its purest form.

It is also an image of a space that seems resistant to the haste of the modern world. That is why similar frames often become symbols of the need to protect valuable natural areas. Their power comes not only from their scenic qualities, but also from the reminder of how important the balance between humans and the environment is.

A landscape that tells the story of nature

The valley visible in the center may suggest the presence of a braided river, a former glacier, or a broad corridor formed by geological processes lasting thousands of years. This gives the photograph an additional meaning: it is not just a postcard view, but also a record of nature’s constant work. Every slope, fold in the terrain, and snow line testifies to the power of climate, water, and time.

Such images remind us that mountains remain one of the most spectacular and at the same time demanding ecosystems in the world. Their beauty is harsh, monumental, and fragile all at once. That is why admiration for such a landscape naturally leads to reflection on the need to protect it for future generations.

Why such views still fascinate

The popularity of mountain panoramas does not fade, because they combine several powerful emotions at once: admiration, humility, and peace. A photograph showing snowy peaks, a vast valley, and a dark green forest works almost instantly, evoking associations with freedom, travel, and escape from everyday noise.

In times of sensory overload, it is precisely such frames that remind us that nature still makes the greatest impression. Without additional effects, without crowds, and without noise, it can tell a story about the endurance of a world that exists beyond the pace of human life.

Mr. Paweł is a father of two daughters. He says his children don’t get sick often, but when they do, the biggest problem is scheduling a doctor's appointment at the clinic.

Will the Doctor See My Child?

“She starts work at 8 AM. I started calling a bit earlier. I’ve never managed to get through quickly. If I’m lucky, I manage it on the 10th or 20th try,” he explains. And adds that when it works, it feels like a success.

If he doesn’t get through quickly, there are no more appointments with the pediatrician. Then he has to go in person in the afternoon and ask, "Will the doctor see my child?"

“But the biggest problems are with registering at the hospital outpatient clinic. My record is 1 hour and 43 minutes on the phone waiting for a connection,” he adds.

Mr. Paweł is just one of millions of patients who, day after day, often unsuccessfully, try to get a doctor’s appointment. Each story is unique, often hiding personal dramas. Now this is set to change.

First, an Electronic Central Registration System Must Be Created

The Ministry of Health wants to make it possible to register for a doctor's appointment online. This will be done through the Internet Patient Account (IKP), a system that was already used for COVID-19 vaccinations.

However, for this to happen, a central system must first be created—namely, the Electronic Central Registration System. Currently, each clinic and hospital has its own registration system. These changes are included in the draft amendment to the Act on Health Care Services Financed from Public Funds and the Act on the Health Information System.

It’s worth noting that this is not the Ministry of Health’s first attempt at such a revolution. Last summer, there was a pilot program for e-registration, but only for selected services. It was for appointments with cardiologists and specialized tests like MRI and CT scans.

Data Won’t Enter Itself into the System

The bezprawnik.pl service assesses that the Electronic Central Registration System will be revolutionary for both patients and healthcare system employees.

“For healthcare facilities themselves, central registration could theoretically streamline their work. The teleinformatics system of the Electronic Central Registration would perform part of the work that today must be done by employees of individual clinics and hospitals. On the other hand, someone needs to enter data about work schedules at individual facilities into the system,” it reads.

Photo source: https://unsplash.com/photos/man-sitting-on-sofa-while-using-laptop-VvAcrVa56fc?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash

They’ve already announced that they will pass the additional costs onto their customers.

The chain of price hikes goes like this: network infrastructure owners raise the prices of their services, leading to higher costs for operators. To avoid losses, these operators then increase their customers' bills. They promise that we’ll pay less only when inflation drops.

It’s Going to Get More Expensive

According to the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS), inflation in Poland was 16.6% in December 2022. Rising prices will also affect the telecommunications services sector. The biggest companies in this industry are preparing for price hikes.

According to "Rzeczpospolita," the higher operating costs of telecommunications operators will lead to increased fees for service recipients. Operators who used EU funds to build networks will need to ask the Office of Electronic Communications for permission to raise prices. For example, Fiberhost (managing open fiber-optic networks) will be able to increase fees by about 10%.

Entrepreneurs’ Creativity

Some operators found a way to avoid procedural complications related to price increases some time ago. Orange, Play, and T-Mobile decided to use so-called inflation clauses, allowing them to modify prices during the contract term. The extent of the increases would depend on the average annual consumer price index announced by GUS.

For Orange, increases will occur if prices rise by at least 3.5% compared to the previous year. T-Mobile plans similar actions if the average annual inflation rate reaches 3%. Play has anticipated various scenarios justifying price changes, including a 3% inflation rate and changes in the euro exchange rate.

The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) is reviewing the legality of these inflation clauses. UOKiK Chairman Tomasz Chróstny believes such provisions do not equally protect the interests of both parties in the agreement.

The Worst Is Yet to Come

The average annual consumer price index in 2022 compared to 2021 was 114.4 (a 14.4% price increase). The National Bank of Poland (NBP) predicts that inflation will peak in January and February 2023, potentially exceeding the critical 20% mark.

A bit of optimism amidst these grim figures is that the zero VAT rate on food will be maintained at least until June 30 this year.

Photo source: https://unsplash.com/photos/transmission-post-during-daytime-WR757TmRjVg?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash

Like the 500 plus program, there are no income criteria for eligibility.

"The state should do everything to ensure that every young person has a good start, regardless of their parents' financial capabilities," the government explained for this gift.

370,000 students, who will start fourth grade this September, will receive laptops. Why was this specific level of education chosen?

The Prime Minister's Office explains that this is when computer science classes begin, and children at this age are best suited to start developing digital skills across various subjects.

The purchase of computers for fourth graders will cost 760 million PLN plus VAT.

Throwing Money Away

Last year, computers were distributed to about 218,000 students from post-state farm areas. Even then, as noted by bezprawnik.pl, there were doubts about whether such support was necessary for every family. In many cases, it turned out that the computers went to wealthy homes where families had long since bought them for their children.

The same will be true for the 370,000 laptops for fourth graders. Money spent on a laptop for a child from a wealthy family is like throwing it away.

The same goes for the 500 plus program, which is received by all children and youth up to 18 years old. Pi-stacja Comes to the Rescue with Free Lessons

The Pi-stacja program, launched in 2015, has been an alternative to paid tutoring from the start, as highlighted by the portal strefaedukacji.pl. It was designed to provide free professional support to students from less affluent families.

It All Started with Math

“Pi-stacja primarily offers free video lessons, but it’s not just that,” says Małgorzata Kazubska from the Katalyst Education Foundation in an interview with the portal.

It began with math, the subject that most often troubles Polish students. Later, physics (grades 7-8), chemistry (grades 7-8), and biology (grades 4-6 and 7-8) were added. To date, over 800 video lessons have been published.

“We aim for our project to become a solution that supports learning and teaching,” emphasizes Małgorzata Kazubska. “We add interactive exercises and review materials for exams with students in mind.”

Not Just Knowledge

Can the Pi-stacja project replace traditional tutoring? According to Kazubska, it depends on the student, their learning pace, and skills. However, she notes that, besides providing specific knowledge in various subjects, it also teaches young people self-organization.

“We constantly monitor how much time users spend watching our video lessons and compare it with the average hourly cost of tutoring. We estimate that since the first Pi-stacja video was published in 2015, Polish families have saved nearly 100 million PLN on paid tutoring costs,” Małgorzata Kazubska highlights in her interview with strefaedukacji.pl.

42 Million Views

The Pi-stacja project is carried out daily by professionals – teachers and methodologists. It gained significant popularity during the pandemic when schools suddenly had to switch to online teaching.

“Teachers were familiar with our video lessons and had tested them in teaching long before the pandemic. When schools were closed in March 2020, they turned to Pi-stacja because it was a ready-to-use resource,” recounts Małgorzata Kazubska.

She adds, “The number of views grew at an unimaginable pace. To date, our video lessons have been viewed 42 million times.”

Photo source: https://unsplash.com/photos/boy-in-red-hoodie-wearing-black-headphones-JiOFFI3W7IA?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash

What can be done to avoid it? Save wisely. Just follow a few rules.

A survey by IBRiS for the Polish Electric Energy Committee showed that for 86% of Poles, the best argument for reducing electricity consumption is the desire to lower their bills. However, there's no indication that this will happen. On the contrary, we can expect bad news about further energy price increases.

In this situation, the only way to avoid financial disaster is to save on electricity, among other things, to balance our household budget. This can be helped by changing daily habits when using home electronics and appliances.

Remember…

...that reducing energy consumption shouldn't negatively impact safety, health, and daily comfort. Avoiding turning on lights and staying in dark rooms can cause vision problems or worsen your well-being. It's also easier to have accidents in dark rooms.

Here are a few simple ways to reduce energy consumption in our homes…

Energy Vampires

So-called energy vampires include:

Induction cooktop

Electric water heater

Audio systems

Router

Laptop charger

Robot vacuum

Printer

Coffee maker

TV decoder

Gaming console

Microwave

Although they are used sporadically, they are usually always plugged in for convenience. This gives them their "vampire" properties. If you don't use these devices, unplug them – especially when you plan to be away for a while. Let this be the beginning of our battle with high bills.

Household Appliances

Use the full capacity of the dishwasher. Avoid delayed start and standby mode. Do the same with the washing machine (washing at lower temperatures – 30-40 degrees – can save you up to 40% energy).

Descale the kettle and regulate its temperature, which can result in 20% and 9% savings, respectively.

Heat food in the microwave (avoid standby mode) instead of the oven or induction cooktop. This can reduce energy consumption by up to 80%.

Separate the refrigerator from heat sources like radiators. Don’t put hot food in it. Try to open it less often and increase the temperature by one degree above the manufacturer’s recommendations. This simple step can save you up to 6% energy.

Dry laundry only with a full load in the dryer. Before using a hairdryer, try towel-drying your hair a bit. This will shorten the time you use the device.

Avoid using appliances during peak energy hours, between 5 PM and 8-9 PM, to prevent contributing to a blackout.

Find out when your electricity provider offers lower rates.

Lighting

Replace traditional bulbs with LEDs. This can reduce energy consumption by several dozen percent.

Don’t leave lights on in empty rooms.

Don’t block radiators with furniture, and lower the heating when you leave home.

Distribute temperature optimally, heating the bathroom the most and the kitchen the least. To effectively control it, invest in "smart thermostats."

Laptops and Smartphones

A laptop is an essential tool for remote work but also one of the biggest energy consumers.

To save energy, put it in sleep mode whenever possible. Once the battery is charged, disconnect the charger immediately.

Close unused tabs and programs, and use the night light feature when working in the evening.

By reducing screen time by just an hour a day, you can save up to 13% energy.

Choose a monitor with a smaller screen size and reduce its brightness. Lowering this function to 70% can result in up to 20% energy savings.

For your phone, turn off the energy-consuming location service. Reduce the volume and screen brightness. Keep the phone’s charge level between 40-80%.

Remember that malfunctioning or old devices can generate higher electricity bills.

Photo source: https://unsplash.com/photos/tilt-shift-lens-photography-of-clear-glass-bulb-Bb9jWuTMPUk?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash

The man must pay a fine of 4,000 Polish złoty and additionally cover the court costs.

The reckless driving occurred on November 4, 2023, in Kazimierzowo, near Elbląg, where the speed limit was 90 km/h. The 29-year-old accelerated his Audi to 158 km/h and was caught by a traffic patrol. The police officers filed a motion against the man to the court, which issued a guilty verdict.

The man has to pay a fine of 4,000 Polish złoty and cover court costs amounting to 400 zł.

Police officers appeal mainly to young drivers! Excessive speed is at the top of the list of causes of road accidents. Such behavior shows a lack of imagination, in other words, an inability to anticipate what can happen on the road at speeds exceeding the legal limits. Anything can happen (a blown tire, an animal suddenly appearing, someone falling asleep at the wheel, or reckless overtaking resulting in crossing into our lane). What is it and how is it created?

On July 15, emergency services received a report of a 12-year-old girl missing in the water. The mother was unable to specify the exact location where she last saw her daughter.

According to Gniewino WOPR (Water Volunteer Emergency Service) - a search and rescue operation was immediately launched. Swimming areas along the entire "A" beach were closed. Lifeguards, utilizing the vast number of beachgoers, organized and led a lifesaving chain, tasked with combing through a 400-meter section of the water.

Dozens of vacationers in Łeba quickly came to help, for which we sincerely thank you! Huge applause to you all. (...) One hour after the start of the operation, the missing girl was found safe and sound in a hotel room

- added WOPR.

What is the "lifesaving chain" and how do you create it?

The "lifesaving chain," also known as a "human chain," refers to the actions of a group of adults who unite to try to find a drowning person. Lifeguards from Sopot explain that it is formed when searching for someone in the water. Instead of sending several or more lifeguards into the water, people on the beach can be asked for assistance. Typically, these are adult men who, by holding onto each other's arms or hands, enter the water and move back and forth between search areas. There is a greater likelihood of finding a submerged person with 50 people than with three or six, even though the latter are lifeguards.

The corridor of life not only on the road

During sea rescue operations, authorities urge beachgoers not to occupy or block space needed by those saving lives and health:

Let's leave a clear 5-meter wide path running through the center of the beach, knowing that thanks to our responsible behavior, rescuers will reach the person fighting for their life in time.

- warns the police.

Photo source: https://unsplash.com/photos/people-sun-bathing-on-beach-_mmd-LgBPrs?utm_content=creditCopyText&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash

At the bottom of the table, 8 teams are still fighting to stay at the central level. Among them is Olimpia Elbląg, which, before their home match against Polonia Bytom, holds just a one-point advantage over the relegation zone.

The table shows very small differences between the teams striving to remain in the league.

Currently, the most dangerous rivals for Elbląg are teams ranked from 16th to 11th. Interestingly, the upcoming round will feature many direct clashes:

GKS Jastrzębie (Jastrzębie Zdrój) - Wisła Puławy

Skra Częstochowa - Stomil Olsztyn

Olimpia Grudziądz - KKS 1925 Kalisz

Lech II Poznań - Sandecja Nowy Sącz

Skra could practically relegate Stomil Olsztyn, with good chances of winning. KKS Kalisz must win to have a shot at the playoffs and securing a high position in the table (currently third), but they haven't won in five matches. Grudziądz will want to capitalize on this and has a chance. Jastrzębie might defeat Wisła as they are notably more effective at home.

As a result, if Olimpia Elbląg wants a more comfortable position going into the final round, they must secure points against Polonia Bytom. However, among all these clubs, Polonia Bytom appears to be the toughest opponent. Winning would be ideal, but the newcomer is the best team this spring in the entire league, having lost only one match and scored 26 points in 13 games. They have also scored the most goals, beating goalkeepers 30 times. Previously, they defeated Chojniczanka 4:1 in Chojnice.

However, our footballers still have everything in their hands. Olimpia, on the other hand, struggles with scoring goals and winning matches. Two victories ensure survival, but this year they've only managed this feat three times. Since coach Sebastian Letniowski took over, Elbląg has not lost a match. Among the teams fighting to stay in the league, only they haven't been defeated in the last five matches. On the flip side, under this coach, Olimpia has scored only two goals. Defense is crucial for the coach, but with the schedule, the form of both hosts and rivals, simply avoiding defeat might not be enough.

The last round is also intriguing:

Polonia Bytom - Lech II Poznań

Hutnik Kraków - Olimpia Grudziądz

KKS 1925 Kalisz - Skra Częstochowa

ŁKS II Łódź - GKS Jastrzębie

Wisła Puławy - Pogoń Siedlce

Chojniczanka – Olimpia Elbląg

Against Elbląg, there is a decision related to Jastrzębie. GKS will play against ŁKS reserves at home instead of playing away. The facility in Łódź will be occupied, so the match will take place in Jastrzębie Zdrój. This changes the balance of power. In favor of Olimpia, most hosts in the final round have something to play for.

Piotrcovia displayed ineffectiveness at many points during the game, but still managed to take three points from Start Elbląg’s home court. Our girls let their rivals catch up and started their home games unsuccessfully.

The match in the MOSiR Sports and Entertainment Hall was very chaotic. Both teams made many mistakes, especially with goal attempts and passes. Start and Piotrcovia had their periods of stagnation, but when the crisis hit the home girls, they couldn't defend themselves effectively.

At the beginning of the match, Nikola Owczarek got injured. The winger reportedly has a minor injury, although it looked serious. We wish her health and a quick return to the court. As for absences, Paulina Kopańska still cannot help her team and is waiting for the chance to return to training.

In the 5th minute, Paulina Stapurewicz scored, making it 4-2. This was when EKS had their first stagnation. The rivals took advantage of two counterattacks and a defensive error, taking a 6-4 lead. These four consecutive goals didn’t scare Start, who responded similarly and capped their period of dominance with a goal by Aleksandra Zabielny. 8-6.

From the 15th minute, we saw many unsuccessful attempts by Piotrcovia. Start wasn't impressive either, but they gradually increased their lead over the visitors. They pulled away to 11-8 in the 23rd minute thanks to Weronika Weber. When Juliane Costa Pereira later received a penalty, the visitors had a solid advantage to catch up with the locals. This is when the unpredictability of handball showed itself. Start scored two goals while being a player down, and then Marta Gęga improved the hosts' score with her throw. 14-9, and at halftime, it was 15-11.

In the second half, the rivals of the Elbląg team started to play. After the break, they quickly scored two goals, making the game open again. In the 34th minute, Paulina Stapurewicz scored, making it 16-13. Errors in EKS’s attack and Piotrcovia's effectiveness allowed the visitors to get even closer. In the 38th minute, Silvie Polaskova converted a penalty into a goal. In the next action, the ball was again in Start's net, making it 17-17. For the first time since the 8th minute, the Piotrcovia players were leading and didn’t let it slip. It was the 44th minute and the match was entering its decisive phase. Sylwia Radushko scored to make it 19-18, and then it continued.

EKS faltered in the attack. Daria Opelt blocked an Elbląg player's shot, and Tauani Schneider Martins used the counter to increase the lead. Start was chasing. In the 47th minute, Weronika Weber scored a lob from a penalty, but then Tatiana Trbović also scored. When Daria Opelt stopped Aleksandra Zabielny's shot and Lucyna Sobecka changed the score to 24-20 in the 53rd minute, it was clear that getting points would be very difficult. Weronika Weber's blocked penalty shot and Patrycja Królikowska's spectacular spin shot settled the matter.
